Prusa MK4S

Edit page

Recently bought a Prusa MK4S 3D printer. I didn’t spend much time choosing because I already use one at work. It’s an excellent tool that’s not difficult to set up. I bought it together with the external enclosure.

Based on my experience at work, I decided to get the printer already assembled. Assembling it yourself is a quite labor-intensive task.

The enclosure is quite easy to assemble, taking just one evening. That is, if you don’t get distracted. The kids were very interested in watching and helping. I ordered the air filter, but I haven’t quite understood its effectiveness yet. The enclosure is far from airtight, and the filter itself just “circulates” the air inside it. On the other hand, as I understand it, a filter isn’t required for printing with PLA. As expected, the very first prints were made for the printer itself. For example, a scraper for removing finished prints and residues from the heatbed.

Now the plan is to make a table for it so it doesn’t stand on the floor as it does now. I saw several ideas for using IKEA furniture to build a table. But after checking, all these constructions turned out to be very flimsy and wouldn’t withstand the vibrations during printing.

I really hope this purchase will be useful in our home.
